Margaret Kelly practises at Bespoke Family Solutions as a mediator and arbitrator. She has specialised in family law since the early 1990s. She is qualified as a solicitor, collaborative lawyer, mediator and arbitrator. Margaret also sits as a part time judge in the civil and family jurisdictions providing her with the necessary skills to act as an arbitrator.
This year Margaret trained in the hybrid model of family mediation this takes a number of aspects from the commercial model and incorporates these into family mediation. This method is suitable for all family mediations but is more used in high conflict matters. The parties lawyers often attend the mediations and the mediator may have separate meetings with each of the parties the content of which will remain confidential unless (subject to the usual exceptions) the party agrees to the information being shared.
Margaret offers mediation and arbitration for issues about children and finances arising from the breakdown of relationships.
Many of the financial cases she works on are complex involving overseas assets, trusts and company issues.
The children cases she works with often include complex family situations, as well as disputes about where a child should live or go to school or who (s)he should see.
The cases involve people in heterosexual and same sex relationships.
Margaret receives recommendations from fellow professionals as well as enquiries direct from the public.
She is flexible both as to location and times of mediations and arbitrations.
